I never thought to start a blog on my journey as being a mother, but a dear friend of mine who I was able to reconnect with when I found out I was pregnant suggested starting a blog to not miss the most dear moments of my sons life.
The title of this blog is lyrics in a song that is my favorite song currently right now. The few days before Cole was born Phil and I would lay in bed and he would play this song over and over for Cole. Since Cole has been born, I play it a few times for him (sometimes we even dance to it when Daddy isn't looking). The song is "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz. The song is about being head over heels for someone, and just letting it go, and letting it ride out. Although it is about a man being head over heels for a woman, the lyrics still touch me as during the pregnancy I was head over heels over this baby, and now, I'm head over heels for my son. Some of the lyrics are just so true and what I wish for my son. Here are a few lines that just touch my heart and my dreams for Cole:
Open up your mind and see like me.Open up your plans and damn you’re free. Look into your heart and you’ll find love love love…Listen to the music of the moment people dance and sing. We’re just one big family. It’s our god-forsaken right to be loved loved loved loved. Well open up your mind and see like me open up your plans and damn you're free look into your heart and you will find that the sky is yours.
That is my goal for Cole - that he find that the sky is his, and to look into his heart and find love, find love with everything, and everyone. And I'll do everything as a mother for him to realize it, I'm his, he is mine, life couldn't be better!
I'm sure you are asking why have I started a blog? I've started this blog like my friend suggested to never miss the little moments in Coles life. To just journal my life with him, and the amazing travels we will take as a family. I have opened this up to you, my friends & family, so you can join in the joys and i'm sure the frustrations we will have as a family. So welcome, welcome to my blog where the sky is yours as well, and the journey we take as a family to make sure that Cole will find that the sky is his, and he will know he is loved, loved, loved.
