The glorious pregnancy!

Phil and I found out I was pregnant on April 22nd, 2008. What a day that we will never forget! We just arrived home from a nice trip visiting my grandparents in Texas. While on the flight I had a dream that I was pregnant and we were having a little boy. On our way home from the airport we stopped at WAWA to get dinner. As soon as we walked in the door I told Phil I was going to take the luggage upstairs, he insisted we eat first, but I went ahead and went upstairs (I knew I was going to take a test, but didn't let Phil know!) I went up stairs, took the test, and went downstairs with out even looking at it. I took a few bites of my hoagie, and couldn't take it anymore, and ran upstairs to see the result of the test. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it was positive! I ran downstairs, told Phil ,and we were just SHOCKED! I can't even explain the emotions we felt!

Through out the pregnancy I tried to keep a time line of events that happend.. Towards the end I didn't do so well, but here are some that I kept.


4/22 – Phil and I just got home from Texas – while on the trip I wasn’t feeling “right”.. We picked up wawa to have for dinner on the way home from the airport. Phil didn’t know I was going to test, so I went upstairs, tested.. and it was positive! I told Phil right before he was about to eat.. He didn’t believe me cause the line was so light – he asked me to test with another one! I did, and that one came up right away!
4/26 – Told my parents when we were 4weeks 2 days pregnant!
Got an Ultrasound done at 4wks 1 d (saw nothing! ), 5 wks 1 day (saw sac!), 7wks 1 day (saw fetal pole, heart beat, yolk sac) 9wks 1 day (saw what looked like a baby!)
Told Phils parents on Mother’s day – we were 6 weeks and 2 days along.
6/16 – went in for spotting, got to hear the heart beat, I was 11weeks 4 days, the heart beat was 148 J was put on bed rest for 2 days.
6/18 – We told everyone our news! Everyone is so excited – tomorrow I’ll be 12 weeks!
6/19 – Word got around work 12weeks exactly – had a little more spotting this morning, so I called the doctor and they scheduled an ultrasound for tomorrow at 8:30 am! Yay! We get to see you! Grandma is coming too!
6/20 – went in for an ultrasound and got a new picture of you! We saw your little tummy! and you were moving around so much.. every time you moved, I laughed and you did flips! I couldn’t stop laughing!
7/1/08 – Doctors Appointment at 4:30pm to listen to the Heart beat! Your heart beat was 150 we got to listen for a little bit, and loved it.. Daddy had a huge smile on his face, and so did I. I have only gained 3lbs so far, but I feel huge already, how am I ever going to gain 22 more lbs for you
7/5/08 – mommy, daddy, gram, and granddad went and got your bedding on gram’s birthday, it has bunny’s on it .. Mommy and daddy call each other mr., and mrs. Bunny, now we are having a lil bunny! We also looked at cribs
7/9/08 – Daddy took a picture of my tummy! It is starting to get bigger! I think people will notice soon! I also went to the dr.s and asked them to do a heart beat check, I just love listening to your heart beat, and it keeps me clam!
7/22/08 - We stopped at the doctors so i could calm my nerves, at 16 weeks 5 days your heart beat was 158 :)
7/28 - Had our 17 week 4 day appt. Your heart rate was 150, and mommy is up 7lbs so far! :)
7/30- felt my first outside kick/roll - and grandma put her hand there and felt it too! Too bad daddy wasn't around to feel it :( :(

19weeks6 days we had our 20 week ultrasound and we got to see your legs! They look so long!

9/3 - Daddy spent all weekend working on your room! He did such a great job.
9/19 - Mommy & Daddy have been feeling you move a lot! I'm 25 weeks and 1 day!
10//18 - we ordered your furniture!
10/19 - Mommy & Daddy enjoyed a weekend with you of moving around a ton! You are shaking my belly so much!
11/3 - Went into the hospital having contractions - Mommy is dilated a bit, and 50% effaced! They stopped the contractions by giving me a shot and it seemed to help, you were happy as can be, and healthy! I was 31 weeks and 4 days.
11/5 - Back in the hospital! Mommy was feeling contractions again, but this time everything was okay!
11/8 - Shower today! Gram, Aunt Lee, and Aunt Nikki threw me a beautiful shower, it was wonderful! We got so much stuff for you, you can tell you are SOO loved already! I can't wait to meet you! Now it is time to organize!
12/3 - 37 Week growth ultrasound - You were weighing in at 6lbs 8oz, and looked healthy! Good Job Baby!!
12/19 - Placed on strict bed rest and had to stop working - it is so worth it tho, as long as you are healthy! I was placed on bed rest due to high blood pressure, at one point it was 164/106
12/29 -Mommy was induced and we had you! A healthy baby boy! 7lbs 7oz, 21 inches long, born at 10:34pm.. Mommy and Daddy went 13 hours with out naming you! But we finally decided on the most perfect name, Cole Nicholas Shoemaker! Welcome Baby Cole!
