Tuesday, Cole sees the dr. and has an ear infection - he was put on amoxicillin. Saturday - Cole falls and we go to the ER to get stitches, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday Cole is averaging a 101-103 temperature. On Thursday I get an email from CiCi saying he has a "rash", we already had a Dr. appt to get the stitches out so we showed the "rash" to his Dr. She thought it was an allergic reaction to something or just a virus taking its course.... so Friday (Christmas Eve!) Cole wakes up with even more hives and just in a foul mood! My parents came up to hang out with us and he was very moody, he didn't want anyone touching him and the littlest things were setting him off (so not like him!). Right before nap time my mom changed his diaper and both my parents noticed his knees were swollen. We then noticed he was limping and having trouble walking! His ankles were swollen, along w/ his wrists and fingers. I quickly called the Dr. and they sent us right to the hospital. We went to Chester County (Yucky hospital! - next time we will go to Bryn Mawr) but everyone was SO very nice!
Cole got a stocking from the nurse that had a card from a child, coloring book and crayons. He LOVED IT! It kept him busy! Phil brought his iPad and that was a life saver! We watched Chuggington and Cars on it!
Cole was a trooper, and was so polite the entire time. He started to say "No thanks" and was saying "No tanks" to everything the nurse was asking him to do. It was so cute! THey just loved him to pieces and kept complimenting him on his manners (i'm one proud mommy!).. They had a Dr. come down from CHOP to take a look at him, and all his labs came back great! We got an US on his head, since we found a big lump but we think it ended up being a hive since they couldn't see anything.
We were discharged at 8:00pm - we really don't know what caused this? They think an allergic reaction, or a bad virus? who knows? We just know we are VERY thankful it wasn't anything serious!
