Uh Oh

Uh Oh, Hmm Mmm, and shaking his head NO are Cole's favorite things to do now a days. He is constantly saying Uh Oh, it is so cute! He has such a sweet voice! We love it when we ask him a question and he shakes his head no, it makes us laugh. We are trying to get him to do the yes motion.

This month has been a trying month. Cole is protesting nap time, and it is really frustrating both Phil and I. The kid is happy - and just fine without a nap, but come close to 6 he turns into an absolute lunatic. He starts screaming, refuses to eat dinner, smacks away his sippy cup, me, Phil, and his toys. He is into pushing things away from him when he doesn't want it. Something happened also during a bath time. The last 4 baths he has been screaming his head off the moment he would put his toe in the water. We ALWAYS check the water with our little ducky that will tell us if the water is too hot, and it isn't.

We don't know what could have scared him, maybe the water in his face? So last night i placed him in the tub and he freaked, tried to climb out of the tub, clawing at me, trying to climb up my arm, but I had enough. I made him stay in the tub and was determined to get him to be OK with it. He cried and cried... After a few minutes of me putting his toys in a little container and pouring them out and making funny noises and saying "don't you come out" (to his toys), and having them spill out and splashing the water, he started to laugh and giggle - so last nights bath was successful. Tonight's bath I put him in, and he turned around quickly and tried to climb up my arm, i starting singing and playing the same game and he turned around, sat down and started giggling and playing and splashing.. Oh it was so sweet to see and made me cry - my baby was happy to be in his tub again.. He was still hesitant when I washed him, and watched my every move, but overall he was okay.

I swear if Phil and I weren't the only ones that bathed him I would think something AWFUL happened to him. We have no clue what could have triggered this fear? Just a phase? Did we get water in his eyes? I have no clue. In other news, we took away night time bottle - somewhat..

For dinner he gets 4 oz's of his formula in a cup, and then after bath we rock him and read him a story while he finishes the other 4. then we place him in the crib WITH OUT his bottle (yes - we are bad parents and use to let him drink his bottle in the crib) - he is doing great with this adjustment - he just rolls on his belly, places his hands under his belly - and sticks his butt in the air - precious!!!!!!! So, hopefully next few weeks we can conquer nap time. I'm thinking he is ready to go to 1 nap a day - so I'll try putting him down around 10:30 tomorrow.. WISH ME LUCK!!
