This woman is truly my favorite. Her name is Dottie and is Phil's Aunt. Phil and I spend about 1 weekend a month in the summer time at her and Aunt Tina's house. Lot's of picnic's happen at their house, and they have a lovely pool :).. My favorite nights in the summer are when we are at Aunt Tina and Dot's house, and Phil and his mom are in the pool and I would sit at the table out side and chat with Dottie, Aunt Tina, Janet , etc.. These are amazing memories I have with the Shoemaker's...Dottie has ALWAYS made me feel welcome, and she just gets me! She is someone that I know I can just look at, and she knows EXACTLY what I'm thinking... Dottie is quiet but really is a jokster! She cracks me up, and is great at "zinging" people!
When we were pregnant I couldn't wait to tell them. As soon as we got the go ahead from the Doctor we went right over to Aunt Tina and Dot's house.. Dottie wasn't at home, but Aunt Tina called her and told her she needed to come home! They both were SO excited for us! How lucky are Phil and I to have them care about us so much??
She is really sick right now. Please pray for a miracle, I'm really really struggling with this right now. This has been hard to accept, and someone I just don't want to lose right now... She means so much to me whether she knows it or not...or if anyone knew how much she really means to me..
I don't know if this is harder because I really couldn't wait for her to watch Cole grow up, and for Cole to enjoy those moments in the summer time at their pool... Or that she was my sanity at times :)...
Shoemaker gatherings are just never going to be the same... We went over to Aunt Tina and Dot's house on Sunday and got some really good pictures of her with Cole.. These pictures I will treasure forever!
